The history of Beaconuk Group Limited

In 2002 Les Puxty started his own business as a sole trader in a mobile footwear service.  Supplying specialist footwear from the centre of Lincoln, venturing out to areas such as York, Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry, Cambridge and further, the business developed across the country over the next 8 years.

In 2010 Beacon experienced a change in direction as a direct result of the 2010 GFC (global financial crisis) and became more focused on PPE and workwear moving away from the mobile business.

As the business grew and progressed the decision was made in 2012 to open a new office in the heart of Lincoln itself right around the corner from the Cathedral.

In 2016 The business had become well established in the local area which led to Ian Puxty joining his farther to deal with the increasing demand.

By 2016 Beacon was well known around Lincoln, Les & Ian expanded their service portfolio to offer personalized branding by introducing Heat-Seal printing, this enabled them not only supply PPE and workwear for businesses but to also apply branding such as logos and names to many types of garments.

In 2017 Fran came on board to run their first industrial Embroidery machine. Fran’s experience and knowledge led Beacon on to the next stage of their ever growing enterprise. Due to the excellent work carried out by Fran it soon became apparent that one machine would not be enough and in just a short space of time an additional embroidery machine was purchased, allowing the creation of specialist high quality production for their expanding business.

In 2021 Beacon became, Beaconuk Group Limited, initiating the search for new premises with larger working areas to enable them to increase production whilst keeping quality and customer service at the forefront of the business.
